Baptism Sacramental Preparation
Baptism is the gateway to life in the Spirit. It is the means through which we gain access to the other sacraments. Through baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God. We become members of Christ and his church.
Parents and expectant parents who would like to have their child baptized at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral must attend a preparation class prior to the child’s baptism.
Baptism preparation teams help to prepare parents wishing to have their child baptized. Volunteers are also needed to assist children in preparing for their sacraments through retreats and parent sessions.

Marriage Preparation
Through this sacrament, Christians signify and share in the mystery of the unity and fruitful love that exists between Christ and his church. Christian couples are to strive to nourish and develop their marriage by undivided affection in good times and in bad. For every Catholic couple seeking the key to living a happy and holy married life, visit For Your Marriage, the perfect resources for living happily ever after.
The site was launched by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Committee on Marriage and Family Life. Find daily marriage tips, quizzes, blogs, facts and figures, “must have conversations,” a personality audit, personal stories, the biblical roots of marriage, prayers, church documents and information about marital sexuality and spirituality.
We ask that you please contact the parish office between six and 16 months in advance to begin the marriage preparation process.
