Care Ministries


Homebound Ministry

Ministers of Holy Communion to the Homebound take the Eucharist to the homebound of our parish to keep those who cannot attend Mass renewed by the Holy Eucharist and united with their parish.


Nursing Home Ministry

Ministers of Holy Communion to the nursing homes take communion on Sundays after the 9:00 AM Mass to Catholic residents at local nursing homes.


Ministry of Care - Callers

Callers make phone calls to our homebound parishioners to help keep them connected to the parish.


Ministry of Care - Drivers

provide transportation for parishioners to Mass and parish events.


Ministry of Care - Food Preparers

Food preparers provide respite meals to parish families in crisis.


Ministry of Care - Visitors

Visitors go to nursing homes to visit parishioners and keep them connected to their parish.

The prayer chain offers prayers for those who send in prayer requests.

 

Social Ministries


Bethlehem Project  (Visit page here)

The Bethlehem Project provides assistance to those in our community who are in need of housing or emergency lodging.  In cooperation with Catholic Charities, which provides interview and referral services, the project helps people in a housing crisis to retain or obtain permanent housing.  The following fundraisers need volunteers to raise monies to assist those who need and qualify for assistance.

Bethlehem Project 5K "Home Run"  (Visit page here)

This fundraiser is held on Labor Day of each year in Greensburg and requires many volunteers for the event.

Bethlehem Project - St. Nicholas Brunch

This fundraiser is held in mid December each year at the Red Star Restaurant located at the Greensburg train station.  The event includes a delicious brunch, Chinese and Silent Auctions and 50/50.  Volunteers are needed to help with this event.

Women and men who join together to offer service to those who are needy and suffering. The Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Conference of St. Vincent de Paul focuses on service projects throughout the year:
