657 people attended this year's parish picnic last Sunday at Idlewild Park.  God gave us a beautiful day, and people were beautiful to each other in planning and enjoying the time of fellowship, games, fun and fundraising for the community.

I want to thank everyone who contributed in any way to make this day the great time it was.  Over fifty baskets were contributed by various individuals and groups for the Basket Raffle.  Members of the Cathedral staff sold park tickets and kept the Idlewild officials informed of our upcoming needs.  Many parishioners volunteered in many ways to make the day a treat for everyone, from music and sound, to selling tickets and arranging for transportation, and much, much more.  The food was good and generous.  The company was friendly.  The day was a blessing.

We will reserve a date soon for next year to keep this wonderful tradition of the parish picnic continuing.  A full report of the proceeds from this event and the raffle ticket sold in conjunction with it will be given, once all the financial information is available.
