Bethlehem Project

The Bethlehem Project, founded in 1998, provides assistance to those in our community who are in need of permanent housing or emergency lodging. When a need was identified based upon many people coming to the church for emergency housing assistance, a partnership with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg was created two years later.

This project, which is supported monthly by the social ministry collection, averages about $2,300. Income also comes from private donations and business donations in the community, grants, memorial gifts and fundraisers. Other funds are generated by the response to the Bethlehem newsletters.

Innovations Award Winner

The Bethlehem Project has been selected as a 2011 "Innovations" award winner in the category of Prevention by Mental Health America of Westmoreland County. The award will be presented at the annual MHA Innovations Recognition Dinner and Fundraiser to be held May 5 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Greensburg.

If you are interested in purchasing a ticket to this event to celebrate this honor with us for the Bethlehem Project, please contact Sandi Kocian.

Heartfelt thanks to all of you who support the Bethlehem Project and our parish social ministry endeavors. Without your faithful generosity, we could not continue the work of helping our brothers and sisters in need. This award is shared with you!
